1950s Design Theme

Having decided on a particular concept, ie the 1950s, it was then necessary to translate that concept into an actual workable theme. Having carried out appropriate research into 1950s design (and re-watching series 1 of Mad Men) and focusing in on diner/gas station signs in particular I concluded that the recurring nature of overlapping polygons was an interesting one. It is distinctly 1950s without feeling old fashioned. By using a 1950s colour palette with a more vibrant modern edge I felt this could help achieve the desired outcome for the client, ie a brand that stands out from competitors and which appeals to family values.
